Projects Underway

Rationale for a New Facility

  1. Facilities have a tremendous effect on the emotional stability of the child.
  2. Facilities affect the moral of the staff and the ability of the staff to do a good job.
  3. Facilities have a tremendous influence on public perception.
  4. Facilities affect our ability to raise funds to be able to help more kids.
  5. Our current facilities are too small and require a great deal of money to maintain and operate.
  6. The design of our house is not conducive to good mental health or supervision.
  7. Finally, we cannot expand on our current property because we have maximized our potential in terms of waste water treatment. It would cost us over $100,000.00 to stay where we are.
I: Purchase location
  1. Eagle Rock will construct facilities on the 31.8 acres of land near Pump Station Road (Brooke Ave) through a proposal approved on February 1, 2007 by the City of Gadsden, Industrial Development Board.
  2. Eagle Rock has raised $100,000 in community donations to date.
  3. Eagle Rock has raised $140,000 in contributions of $50,000 each from the Daniel Foundation and the Alabama Power Foundation and $40,000 from the Hill Crest Foundation.
  4. An Auction was held on May 20, 2006, which raised $30,000 toward the relocation of the Program to bring the total amount Eagle Rock has at present to $270,000.00.
II. Implementation plan
PHASE I
Phase I will also include construction of the house. A portion of the facility will be designated as office space. During this time the ranch will continue to operate at its Burgess Road location. The total projected cost is $400,000.00.
PHASE II
Phase II will include the development of Vocational Enterprises to provide work for the boys and generate revenue for the home. This will consist of a Greenhouse and Thrift Store at a cost of $290,000.
PHASE III
Phase III will include the construction of an additional house, office and recreational facility at a cost of approximately $600,000.

Upon Relocating to the new Facilities, Eagle Rock will sell the Burgess Road property and construct a third house on the new site. This will be paid for with the revenue from the sale of the Burgess Road property.
